College Transition Enrichment Program

Program Overview

The College Transition Enrichment Program is an extension of the Whitney M. Young Scholars Program, which helps scholars successfully transition from high school to college. The program aims to provide scholars with course scheduling, mentoring, guidance toward on-campus and off-campus resources, and ongoing engagement that will lead to attaining a college degree. 

 Program Goals

  • 70% of students entering their freshman year will return for year two
  • 30% of students entering a two-year degree program will attain their degrees within three years
  • 55% of students entering a four-year degree program will earn their degrees within six years
  • African American males will graduate at a rate 10% higher than the national average of 38%
