Announcing the Whitney M. Young Leadership Initiative

Lincoln Foundation is proud to announce a transformative
milestone in its storied history with the launch of the Whitney
M. Young Leadership Initiative. This new focus underscores the
Foundation’s commitment to nurturing underrepresented youth
from the 8th grade through college completion and into career related internships.
The Whitney M. Young Leadership Initiative is comprised of
three developmental programs designed to maximize the potential of each scholar.

  1. Whitney M. Young Scholars Program: This foundational
college preparatory program offers a rigorous educational framework for students in grades 8-12 fostering academic excellence and
    lifelong learning.
  2. College Transition Enrichment Program: As scholars
transition from high school to college, this program provides seamless mentoring and guidance through the entire college experience.
Support is provided to ensure students maintain their scholarships
and progress successfully toward degree attainment.
  3. Future Leaders Internship Program: This final phase
offers invaluable practical experience and mentorship, equipping
participants with the skills to embark upon a career to grow our
    local workforce talent pool.

The Whitney M. Young Leadership Initiative signifies a new
era that is consistent with Lincoln Foundation’s mission to break
through the limitations of adversity. By thinking bigger, we will
connect students to critical resources at every step of their educational journey. The initiative provides an opportunity for unprecedented student success that will impact our community far
beyond the classroom.
