College Choice: Kentucky State University
Sydney Johnson is a senior at the J. Graham Brown School, where she earned a weighted 4.06 GPA. She has been a Whitney M. YOUNG Scholar since the 7th grade. She credits the program for helping to inspire her to become more involved in her school community.
While at Brown, Sydney took several Advanced Placement courses, including Human Geography, Government and Politics, English, European History, and U.S. History.
Sydney is a member of the National Honors Society, National Beta Club, and serves as a member of the Principal’s Advisory Board. Also, she is a member of both the Pep Club and the Black Student Union. Sydney is a member and team captain of J. Graham Brown School’s Girls Basketball team, which won two back-to-back All-A Championships.
In the fall, Sydney plans to attend Kentucky State University, where she will pursue a major in Business Administration and Management with a focus on Criminal Justice. Following graduation, she hopes to attend Vanderbilt University Law School and ultimately become a defense attorney.
