Imarie James

Imarie James is a senior at Louisville Male High School. She has been a Whitney M. YOUNG Scholar since the 7th grade, and she credits the program for helping to provide her with the guidance and resources she needed to prepare for college.

Throughout high school, Imarie has been a member of the Junior ROTC program. She has received numerous honors winning JROTC medals for Expert Shooter, Distinguished Cadet, Honor Cadet, Perfect Attendance, Good Conduct, JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC), School Support, Community Services, and Confidence Course Ribbon. She has received ribbons for Excellent Staff Performance, Personal Experience, Proficiency, LET Service, and the Honor Unit with Distinction Insignia. Because of her demonstrated leadership, Imarie will graduate with the rank of Second Lieutenant

Imarie plans to attend Jefferson Community Technical College in the fall to pursue a degree in primary education with a minor in military history. She will be the first generation in her family to become a college student. Imarie also hopes to be accepted into the Army ROTC and enlist in the Army National Guard upon graduation.
