Elijah Malone

High School: Louisville Male High School
College Choice: U.S. Military Academy at West Point

Elijah Malone has been in the Whitney M. YOUNG Scholars Program® since the 7th grade. He is a senior at Louisville Male High School.

Elijah has been involved in numerous academic and extracurricular activities. He is a member of the National Honors Society and the National Beta Club. In addition, Elijah is the treasurer for the Black Student Union, serves on the student senate, is a member of the track and field team, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Elijah has also been involved with the JROTC all four years. He participated in the JROTC Raider competitions. He was selected to participate in West Point’s Summer Leaders Experience his junior year. Elijah completed the program and was honored with the Excellence in Kinesiology award.

Elijah will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and will leave for basic training in June. He plans to become a military police officer then pursue a career as an army chaplain. His long-term goal upon retirement from the army is to become a United States Congressman representing the Louisville Metro area.
