College Choice: University of Louisville
Christ Moo has been a Whitney M. YOUNG Scholar since his Freshman year in high school. He is a senior at St. Francis School, where he has earned a weighted 4.6 GPA. He will be the first member of his family to pursue a college degree.
Christs’ family immigrated from Thailand to the Louisville area when he was seven years old. He spent his first several years learning English and taking summer school to catch up on his academics. His progress helped him to become an Advanced Placement student.
While at St. Francis, Christ took AP Physics C: Mechanics, earning a score of 4 on the AP exam. Louisville Business First recognized Christ as one of the First Honors Outstanding High School Students. He was also named a QuestBridge College Prep Scholar and a QuestBridge National College Finalist.
In 2018, Christ earned second place in the St. Francis Junior Varsity Tennis Tournament. Most recently, he was honored as a Spectrum News Scholar Athlete. Christ also volunteers his time with several area charities, including Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Dare to Care, Lord’s Kitchen, and the Boys and Girls Club. In 2015, he was featured in Louisville’s magazine, Super Kids 2015.
Christ will attend the JB Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville this fall. He hopes to pursue a career in biomedical engineering to provide support for the hearing impaired.
